Lauren LoPresti

Lauren earned her Masters in Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in 2017. Prior to this accomplishment, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts Honors Specialization in Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario in 2008.

Lauren’s fascination for the human body stems from her extensive career competing and working as a dance teacher. Understanding the movement capabilities of the body while layering it with a deep knowledge of anatomy and physiology helps to give a biomechanical edge to her treatments.

Osteopathic Manual Therapy focuses on correcting any structural imbalances in order to improve function and mobility of the joints as well as relieve any obstruction to the nerve, artery, vein and lymphatic pathways. When the structure is realigned, function can be restored and the body’s innate ability to self-heal and self-regulate can be reestablished.

Lauren is excited to be part of the One Wellness Team as an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and working with all other practitioners to promote the greatest potential for health to all patients

What is Osteopathic Manual Therapy?

Osteopathy is a client-centered discipline that is based on understanding the relationship between structure and function in order to enhance the body’s inherent ability to heal. It relies on skilled manual therapeutic techniques to assess and treat the client, guiding the natural self-healing properties of the human body.

Osteopathic Manual Practitioners understand there exists a relationship between the bones of the body and all tissues that surround it. Our bodies are designed to move and therefore any restriction of motion can have a negative impact on the patient’s overall health. Osteopathic Manual Therapy helps to restore motion, relieve pain and stimulate the body’s ability to self-heal and self-regulate.

Who can benefit from Osteopathic Manual Therapy?

Due to the gentle and individualized nature of this therapy, Osteopathic Manual Therapy is beneficial to all age groups, from newborns to the elderly, from high performance athletes to those more sedentary, from acute to chronic conditions and everything in between.
